SHADE is a temporary, outdoor place to hang out, find friends, and make new ones in real life.
Parks today look a lot like they did in the ‘80s. Teenage life doesn’t. SHADE is a teen-led organization, a public art installation, and a movement to create spaces that prioritize youth culture and joy.
Teen mental health is a public health crisis. Our cities have the power - the property, programs, and policies - to help. Youth have the voice, the vision and the ambition to create the embracing teen spaces they need.
SHADE is by teens, for teens - and everyone else.
